Aurelia Mining Limited is a UK-based company that is focussed on the development and exploration for gold in Nigeria, a country that it believes has been underexplored to date but one that is very prospective for the development of existing gold deposits, and for further exploration.
Aurelia’s 100% owned Nigerian subsidiary, Iron Ore Mining Limited, owns mining licence 11675 ML (including Exploration Licence 31300 EL), totalling 49.83 km² in area, granted under the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act, 2007, situated in the local government area of Gwagwalada, in the Federal Capital Territory near Abuja. The licence runs until 2036 and contains the flagship Babban Tsauni Gold-Silver/Lead Project, a discovered shallow mineral deposit with mineralisation exposed at surface and exciting upside potential.
The gold mine has high-grade, vein-hosted Pb–Au–Ag mineralisation with artisanal mines producing on the licences currently. It plans to fully evaluate and develop the deposit with an early production scheme planned to commence mining in 2022.
